POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Development Operations is a new role that you will have the opportunity to define and shape as the fundraising team’s operational leader. As Aim High expands and diversifies its donor base, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the strategies, practices, and infrastructure that support the achievement of ambitious revenue goals.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Build and drive streamlined infrastructure and operations

  • Design, lead, and evaluate the systems, processes and tools that allow for the efficient and accurate operational components of the fundraising and marketing teams including, constituent management, analytics and reporting, gift management (processing, acknowledgments, and agreements), and high-quality prospect management for the development team. If needed, vet, select, and partner with an implementation partner/consulting firm to optimize the database.
  • Manage and serve as the in-house expert on the Salesforce donor database, including current Salesforce add-ons (Classy, iWave, Predictive Response, Ebsta) and potentially new tools as needed, to ensure the system is maximized across the organization. Aim High began using Salesforce as its CRM in 2015. As we continue to grow as an organization, we need this foundational system to grow with us.
  • Provide the necessary data analytics to ensure we have the accurate and pertinent information we need to streamline fundraising activities.
  • Manage two direct reports and potentially others as the organization’s needs evolve.
  • Collaborate with the Vice President of Development, Director of Development and the Director of Institutional Giving to implement the donor stewardship strategy.


Oversee portfolio management and prospect management/research

  • Lead and manage the portfolio and moves management strategies, to ensure the team follows moves management protocols to guide their fundraising activities. Continuously monitor and make recommendations for improvements, as needed.
  • Create a prospect research system and processes in collaboration with fundraisers to identify new donor prospects to cultivate and steward.
  • In partnership with front-line fundraisers, create a prospect research system and processes that are embedded within Salesforce to identify new prospects to cultivate and steward.


Manage development financial systems

  • Lead Aim High’s annual revenue management and forecasting practice, ensuring that our database reflects accurate data necessary for our annual budget process and approval. Provide ongoing revenue analysis and projections to assist the Development Team in achieving fundraising goals and the larger organization in financial planning and budgeting.
  • Lead the collaboration between finance and development departments to ensure teams have the information needed to meet financial needs, which includes monthly reconciliation of finance, accounting, and development revenue data.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven track record of successful fundraising and supporting an organization’s revenue growth and scale
  • Experience designing and implementing comprehensive fundraising operational strategies to multiple revenue streams, ideally in the non-profit, education, or other entrepreneurial, high-performing organizations.
  • Extensive experience tracking, analyzing, and reporting on fundraising and financial data, in order to identify key trends that should guide org-wide fundraising strategies; exceptional database management skills.
  • Previous Salesforce database experience required.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, to optimize collaboration among internal departments and individual team members.
  • Strong background in strategy development, change management and systems improvement.
  • Outstanding problem solver with an independent and entrepreneurial spirit that allows you to make quick, sound decisions and the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to operate with considerable independence to effectively establish priorities and work accurately under time constraints.
